The TaylorMade Story
Presenter: David Berry

As more and more organizations turn to professional coaching as a primary venue for leadership development the term “coaching culture” has become ubiquitous. But what is a coaching culture? And how does it actually happen? In this presentation, you’ll hear the story of the development and significance of a coaching culture at the TaylorMade-adidas Golf Company. Questions and ideas to be explored include:

• Defining a “coaching culture” – one company’s definition and practice
• Getting coaching established and sustaining it for the long-haul
• Internal versus external coaches: our choice and challenge
• Professional coaching relationships and the “manager as coach” mindset: what’s the difference? And why is it vitally important to get this right?
• Times of constraint, reduction and fear: how relevant is a coaching culture right now?

With an exploration of these core questions participants in this session will experience a close-up look at one company’s commitment to coaching, both for leadership development and for the establishment of a culture of individual and organizational growth.
